A proper goodbye to Lilo, the most fashionable Pug

It's with a very heavy heart that we have to say goodbye to another one of our close PuggyFriends. Our dear sweet friend Lilo took a bit of an unexpected trip to the Rainbow Bridge last week. We were so so sad to hear this news because Lilo and her sweet mom Jess were some of the VERY first local peeps that we met when I was a puppy and we started going to the Indy Pug Meetup!

Our friend Lilo was known for her fabulous fashion sense and even had an entire wardrobe of ensembles to fit ANY occasion!

Most of her fashionable frocks (such as the "Minnie Pearl" pictured here) were designed and created by our favorite PugDesigner...PUNCHY!




Lilo's nickname (and blog title) was "The Great Rock Eater"....yep.....you guessed it. A few years ago, she ate a non-foodable ROCK that didn't want to come out, so she ended up with getting sort of a "nip tuck" to remedy the situation!

She did this before all those idiotic Real Housewives came along!!! A true original!


Much like a Hollywood star (oh, who are we kidding....almost ALL of us!), Lilo also had to battle weight issues. Her quest to lose weight began one day when she hit "rock bottom"....

"HAAAAAAAAALP!!! DON'T FLUSH!!!!!!! MAH PUGBUTT IS STUCK!!!!!!"


Lilo went on the famous Puggy "Green Bean Diet"....

She lost a LOT of weight and became a very svelte looking puggy!


With this sassy new figure, she got a fabulous new job....

"HEY...no handling the merchandise, mister....I'll bring your wings when I'm damn good and ready!!!"

Farewell Sweet Molly O'Mally Strain!!!!

HI everyone!
By now we're sure most of you have heard that one of our very dear dear puggy friends, Molly O'Mally Strain went to the Rainbow Bridge while dreaming away on Sunday morning.

As you all know, Molly was QUITE the character and we realized that most of the things that remind us of Molly also start with the letter M!



First off....MATLOCK! Molly's favorite TV show!

We hear she also liked "Murder She Wrote", but mom couldn't find it.


MCL Cafeteria....Molly's favorite restaurant!

Mom and Holden met Molly's mom and dad at MCL the other night for dinner (at 3pm in true O'Mally fashion!) and a toast to sweet O'Mally

"The song is ended, but the melody lingers on"...Here's to a true Grande Dame Pug, Molly O'Mally!!! Cheers!


Naturally, after dinner comes another favorite Molly word....METAMUCIL!

M is also for one of MY favorite things that I shared one day with Hank and O'Mally....

McCHEESYBURGERS!!!! NOM NOM NOM!!!!


M is for MOUTH.....CRIMINY that old bird could yap the bark off a tree!

Mom always said that O'Mally was yammering about her damn-no-good-fer-nothin' grandkids that never called or wrote, the lazy meter readers and blasted neighbor kids or anyone else that wouldn't stay the hell off her lawn. She used to let everyone know when the early bird special at MCL was about to start and when it was time to go to the beauty parlor or CVS to pick up her meds. Whatever it was, we're going to miss Aunt Sarah always yelling "CLAM UP, O'MALLY!!!!"

Thanks for letting us love on you during your time here with all of us, Molly! We miss you, but will always look back on your life with a smile! Most of you have probably heard the news by now, but our dear dear friend and Frenchie member of the Smush Faces, Betty has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Here is our favorite picture of Betty

We can just picture her telling all of her friends on the other side of the bridge about the great life she had with her Smushie siblings and Shannon and Bruce. She got to live near the ocean and then on a RANCH with all sorts of other 4 leggers. We like to think that Betty is running around on some nice thick grass, chasing her tennis ball, eating bowl after bowl of ground turkey and of course FARTING to her little heart's content!

Woeful Wednesday

***SIGH*** Hi everyone. Today is day TWO of school for Holden and I miss him!


Mom is trying to keep me busy. She dragged me around the 'hood this morning on what felt like a bajillion mile Bataan Death March, THEN she dumped out my office basket of toys and tried to play with me.

"Ummm...I hope you plan on picking all this crap up, because I'M certainly NOT going to!"

Finally she gave up and just let me wallow in my own depression while I listened for the sound of the Evil Cheesewagon to deliver Holden.

"Was that the bus???" (um...no Salinger, it's only 9:30 am!)

***SIGH*** It's going to be a long school year!

Traumatic Thursday

You are probably wondering why I am FIERCELY standing guard and blocking the door to the garage....

Daddy's boss told him he had to get his butt on a plane and get to Washington DC for a meeting. I refuse to let him go because WHO will rub my tummy and play TUG with me????

Dude...seriously...COME BACK!!!

You CAN'T leave me here with mom!!!! She starves me and ignores me and is simply an unfit PugMom!!!! DON'T GO!!!!!!!!


Ok, well if you HAVE to go...can you take me with you inside this thing???

I won't be any trouble at all! I can just stay in bed in your hotel room during your meeting and then we can order room service!!!! Sound good??????

R.I.P. Gidget the Taco Bell Dog

I'm sure by now you've all heard the news that Gidget the Taco Bell Chiahuahua has passed away.

Back to school

My big brother Holden is in FOURTH grade now! This is his official annual "First Day Of School" picture that mom took on Friday (I know...starting school on a FRIDAY? WTF?)



SO handsome!

Today is Monday and it's brother's first FULL day of school (Friday was just a half day). I knew something was up when he got up early and waited by the door. THEN....that big evil cheesewagon pulled up and took him away! :-(



Now I'll be sad and mopey until the cheesewagon brings him back to me around 3:30.


It's SO tragic!!!!!!!

Try to have a nice day everyone. I'll just be here...moping and sitting in mommy's lap while she's working. SIIIIIIIGH.

Puggy Depression!!!!!!!!

I'm very sad and depressed today! The weather was very nasty here in Indy this morning and all the thunder, lightning and rain caused our Pug Meetup to be CANCELLED! I was SO excited to see Sophie and all my other Puggy friends! Mommy and Daddy went to SuperTarget and I looked out the doorwall from my little bed almost all day.


SIGH!!!!!!!!!!!


Mommy tried to get me to play, but I didn't want to.

She and daddy took me for a walk this evening, but it was so humid out, I was extra snorty and came home and jumped into the bathtub and cried until Mommy turned the water on for me! I just felt like soaking and then drank half of the water in the tub (even though my water bowl had fresh water AND ice cubes in it!).

There was something cool on Mommy's camera from yesterday though...yesterday morning, there was a beautiful and perfect spider web that was attached to the tomato plant and the tiki torch! Mommy kept looking to see if it spelled anything like that clever spider Charlotte made in that book about the pig.


See the web? I ate a spider today...I wonder if that was his house?

The rain did stop, but there is a LOT of flooding around us and the grass was REALLY soggy when Mommy and Daddy walked me. It's supposed to be dry and in the 90s tomorrow! I don't like this heat at ALL!!!!!!!

Maybe tomorrow will be more exciting! Time for bed now! ZZZZZZZZZZZZ
