Happy Patriotic Day AND Happy birthday!

We're taking a lesson from Holden's school and calling today "Patriotic Day".
Photobucket
Holden's school has turned this day into a day of honor and remembrance and ends the day with a "silent dismissal" which is led out by teachers carrying American flags.

So handsome!
Photobucket

Even though I'm a VERY patriotic Pug, I don't function well in the mornings....so this flag idea for me wasn't working well...
Photobucket

Here I am posed with Holden and Maya (our friend that lives across the street). I was looking at the gorgeous sunrise and watching for the Evil Cheesewagon.
Photobucket

Happy Friday everyone and HAPPY PATRIOTIC DAY! Mom has vowed to use her powers for good today and I have agreed to join her by throwing up only on blankets instead of the carpet!
Photobucket

We ALSO want to wish a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Great Grandpa Conrad!!! He's turning 93 today!!! We love you Great Grandpa (even if you DO believe that dogs only belong on FARMS!)

Happy Birthday Great Grandpa!!!!!

Award Wednesday

I'd like to thank the academy (ok...Murphy Dogg and Scout & Freyja and Lily & Benson) for my newest awards!

First up, is a nice award from Lily and Benson the Frenchies!
Photobucket
Apparently, I'm awesome! WHOOHOO! Merci Beaucoup Lily and Benson! Back atcha mes amis!

Mom is a lame-o and is going to leave this award for anyone that hasn't been tagged yet. You want it? Baaaby you got it!

Next up....I am the very proud winner of the "OOOPS I ATE IT" award! I graciously accept this from both Murphy Dogg and Scout & Freyja.
Photobucket

Here are the rules for accepting this...
When accepting this award, you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans were not watching…If you have never stolen any food, you must be a really good pup!! You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward! Next add the logo of this award to your Blog (optional), then nominate at least 5 other furry blogs and let them know by leaving a message on their Blogs…
(our 5 pics are at the end of this post).

NOW...mom is the official "Food Nazi" around here (among other things) so she keeps most of the eatables put away where I can't get them. I've been known to stand and look pathetic until someone feeds me something, but let's tie a napkin around my neck as I take you on a noshing journey you won't soon forget!
Photobucket

Now I've been known to eat dryer sheets, kleenex, paper, Legos, socks and even paper plates...and other assorted non food items...
Photobucket
(yeah, we know...this is an OLD pic, but it makes mom laugh every time she sees it!)

But...my FAAAAAAAAVORITE item to steal and chew on for HOURS has to be any form of THESE....
Photobucket
Doesn't matter WHO might be watching....

Photobucket
Doesn't matter WHAT kind or color (as long as they're MOM'S!)....

Photobucket
Day or night....

Photobucket
New or old....

Doesn't matter...as long as I get them!!!! I don't care how or if I get yelled at...I'm OBESSSED!
Photobucket
As you can see...sometimes I get a little TOO wrapped up in my favorite hobby.

SO...we are happy to pass this award on to some of our NEW favorite bloggers (be sure to stop by and say HI if you haven't already met these awesome pups!)

Oakley and Swisher
Paco
Arlo
Brutus and Yoda
Dallas and Reggie

Of course we would love for ALL of you to play along...so feel free to take this award for yourselves if you're reading this and have fun with it!

Happy Hump Day everyone...and BON APPETIT!!!!

September Meetup

Hi everyone! I have a LOT of pics from our monthly meetup on Saturday, but mom and I had a long "editors meeting" and we chose the best of the best to share here with you. The weather was PERFECT on Saturday morning, sunny and in the low 70's and just right for pugs!

First off...here I am with Sarah (Hank and Molly's mom).
Photobucket
I've been rather anti-social around her the last few times I've seen her and I showed her some love because I didn't want to give her some kind of complex.

Daddy and Dixie Bugg
Photobucket

Here's mom trying to pose me with our friends/neighbors Dallas Clark and Reggie Wayne (get it Colts fans? ;-)
Photobucket
It didn't work and mom fell on her butt as soon as this pic was snapped! HAHA!

She picked up Dallas Clark to get a close up of his cute face...
Photobucket
He's a PUG-ZU (part Pug, part ShihTzu!)

Here I am posing with a new friend...HARRY!
Photobucket
His middle name wasn't Pugalicious like our blogger buddy Harry Pugalicious, but we wanted to get a pic for him so he can see his Indy Name Twin!
Photobucket
Hi Harry!

Here's another feeble attempt at the PugMoms trying to pose us...
Photobucket
That's mom and I with Cindy, Yoda and Brutus (from The Pugs Strike Back)

Of course mom had to get her pic with her (unofficial) favorite member of The Pug Posse...PIPPIN!!!
Photobucket
Pippin's mom said that she had to tighten his harness a bit, so he's losing a bit of his "fluffiness", but he's still uber-snuggly!

Here I am taking a break with Daddy....
Photobucket
He was making his bulldog tattoo bark at me. Hahahaha!

Silly Daddy!
Photobucket

Here are Hank and Molly O'Mally (from I Tell You What)
Photobucket
Molly is doing MUCH better after her bladder surgery last month!

Here's Kelly J. with Harles
Photobucket
We understand Harles was being a bit "bitey face", so he was sitting in "Puggy time-out"

Here's a zoom out shot of some of the moms just hanging out and laughing (they do a LOT of that at our Meetups!)
Photobucket
That's me with mom and then Cindy in the front and Sarah in the back with Hank and Molly.

Speaking of Hank.....he moved to the other side of the table and PLOPPED down and HALF OF HIS BUTT wasn't even on the table!!! Jess (Lilo's mom) caught him and held his butt for him so he wouldn't fall off!
Photobucket
Jess was also nice enough to do the same for mom when her clutzy butt almost fell off the picnic table too!
Photobucket
Thanks Jess! You saved us a trip to the ER! Hahahaha!

Daddy was giving out yummy treats to anyPug that asked for one...
Photobucket
I sat up on the table and made sure the whole treat giving operation remained calm and orderly. You know how starving Pugs are!

Here's the obligatory Indy Bloggers shot!!!! We were missing a few, but the others were with us in spirit!
Photobucket
Down in the very front is Jami who writes for Apollo
2nd row is
Bill (sitting in for Julie) who writes for Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark
Jessica who writes for Lilo
Cindy who writes for Brutus and Yoda
Kelly who writes for Sophie, Dixie Bugg and Harles
Back row is
MY mom (who writes for ME...Salinger)
Sarah who writes for Hank and Molly
Vikki who writes for The Pug Posse (Bernice, Jasmine, Pippin, Eli, Ernie, Eddie and Gus)

As ALWAYS...so great to see all of you!

Happy Labor Day everyone! We hope you celebrate this day PugStyle by doing NO labor at all!!!

The Pug Doth Protest!!!

Ok...I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!!! EVERY Monday through Friday for THREE WEEKS now....Holden has been LEAVING me every morning and getting on that big Evil Cheesewagon and then not returning for EIGHT HOURS. I decided that today (FRIDAY) I was going to stage a SIT-IN!!!
Photobucket
Well....actually it was a "sit-ON" but you get the idea.

At first Holden thought it was funny and thought I was just sitting there on him to be all cute and get at his lunch box, but once mom started getting all loud and stressy for him to get his butt up and watch for the bus....he knew I meant BUSINESS when I didn't budge!
Photobucket
"Hahahaha...just TRY and get up now, Brother!!!"

In the end, I lost out in the feat of strength and Holden went out to meet the Evil Cheesewagon.
Photobucket

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Photobucket

(SIGH!) Well, mom...I guess it's just you and me now until 3:30...
Photobucket
My butt isn't going to scratch itself you know!!!!

Pretzels for ME??? (NOPE!!!!)

Yesterday, mom was making pretzel crusted chicken for Holden for dinner (yum!) and went to grab the pretzels from the pantry. She was almost out and I heard this weird noise followed by something that sounded like "@#$%!%&*!!!!!" I ran in to investigate.........
Photobucket
PRETZELS allllll over the floor! It's like a big floor picnic!!!!!! WHOOHOOO!

I was all set to help out before the "five second rule" kicked in....BUT....Mom (a.k.a. "Food Nazi") told me to "LEAVE IT!" (followed by more ""@#$%!%&*!" talk).
Photobucket

I had to just STAND there and watch her sweep up all those yummy pretzels!
Photobucket
Can you BELIEVE this? TORTURE!

Photobucket
Ok, SURELY she's just sweeping them up together into a big pile to make them easier for me to eat...right?

WRONG!!!!!!!!!
She had Holden hold the dust pan and they put them INTO THE GARBAGE!!!!
Photobucket
I had to look away...I couldn't bear to watch this ridiculous tragedy any more!

Don't they know that there are (likely) STARVING Pugs in China right now?
Photobucket
These pretzels would have made a very nice mid-afternoon snack for me, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...mom was all yelly about them being covered in PUG HAIR...um HELLOOOOO?

Instead...she gave me one of THESE for being a "good boy" while she was cleaning up the pile.
Photobucket
Thanks a heap, mom. I'll close my eyes and pretend like it's a pile of free pretzels!

Sunday Brunch with Dad

(This happened yesterday)

Good morning Daddy! Ooohhh...what's that? Scrambled eggys and 10 grain bread toast from Paradise Bakery? MMMMM
Photobucket

Boyyyy...that sure smells good!!! I'll bet it tastes even better!
Photobucket

OK...I'm going to stand here and look extra cute/pathetic/starving and MAYBE he'll share!
Photobucket

MMMM delicious success!!!!
Photobucket

Thank you daddy!!!!

Happy Monday!
