Happy Patriotic Day AND Happy birthday!

We're taking a lesson from Holden's school and calling today "Patriotic Day".

Holden's school has turned this day into a day of honor and remembrance and ends the day with a "silent dismissal" which is led out by teachers carrying American flags.

Even though I'm a VERY patriotic Pug, I don't function well in the mornings....so this flag idea for me wasn't working well...

Happy Friday everyone and HAPPY PATRIOTIC DAY! Mom has vowed to use her powers for good today and I have agreed to join her by throwing up only on blankets instead of the carpet!


We ALSO want to wish a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Great Grandpa Conrad!!! He's turning 93 today!!! We love you Great Grandpa (even if you DO believe that dogs only belong on FARMS!)

NOW...mom is the official "Food Nazi" around here (among other things) so she keeps most of the eatables put away where I can't get them. Now I've been known to eat dryer sheets, kleenex, paper, Legos, socks and even paper plates...and other assorted non food items...

September Meetup

Hi everyone! I have a LOT of pics from our monthly meetup on Saturday, but mom and I had a long "editors meeting" and we chose the best of the best to share here with you. The weather was PERFECT on Saturday morning, sunny and in the low 70's and just right for pugs!

First off...here I am with Sarah (Hank and Molly's mom).

I've been rather anti-social around her the last few times I've seen her and I showed her some love because I didn't want to give her some kind of complex.

Jess was also nice enough to do the same for mom when her clutzy butt almost fell off the picnic table too!

Thanks Jess! You saved us a trip to the ER! Hahahaha!


Daddy was giving out yummy treats to anyPug that asked for one...

I sat up on the table and made sure the whole treat giving operation remained calm and orderly. You know how starving Pugs are!

The Pug Doth Protest!!!

Ok...I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!!!!! EVERY Monday through Friday for THREE WEEKS now....Holden has been LEAVING me every morning and getting on that big Evil Cheesewagon and then not returning for EIGHT HOURS. I decided that today (FRIDAY) I was going to stage a SIT-IN!!!

Well....actually it was a "sit-ON" but you get the idea.


At first Holden thought it was funny and thought I was just sitting there on him to be all cute and get at his lunch box, but once mom started getting all loud and stressy for him to get his butt up and watch for the bus....he knew I meant BUSINESS when I didn't budge!

"Hahahaha...just TRY and get up now, Brother!!!"


In the end, I lost out in the feat of strength and Holden went out to meet the Evil Cheesewagon.


NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!



(SIGH!) Well, mom...I guess it's just you and me now until 3:30...

My butt isn't going to scratch itself you know!!!!

Pretzels for ME??? (NOPE!!!!)

Yesterday, mom was making pretzel crusted chicken for Holden for dinner (yum!) and went to grab the pretzels from the pantry. She was almost out and I heard this weird noise followed by something that sounded like "@#$%!%&*!!!!!" I ran in to investigate.........

PRETZELS allllll over the floor! It's like a big floor picnic!!!!!! WHOOHOOO!


I was all set to help out before the "five second rule" kicked in....BUT....Mom (a.k.a. "Food Nazi") told me to "LEAVE IT!" (followed by more ""@#$%!%&*!" talk).



I had to just STAND there and watch her sweep up all those yummy pretzels!

Can you BELIEVE this? TORTURE!



Ok, SURELY she's just sweeping them up together into a big pile to make them easier for me to eat...right?


WRONG!!!!!!!!!
She had Holden hold the dust pan and they put them INTO THE GARBAGE!!!!

I had to look away...I couldn't bear to watch this ridiculous tragedy any more!


Don't they know that there are (likely) STARVING Pugs in China right now?

These pretzels would have made a very nice mid-afternoon snack for me, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...mom was all yelly about them being covered in PUG HAIR...um HELLOOOOO?


Instead...she gave me one of THESE for being a "good boy" while she was cleaning up the pile.

Thanks a heap, mom. I'll close my eyes and pretend like it's a pile of free pretzels!
