February's muddy meetup and an award!

Yesterday was the February Indy Pug Meetup and it was a LOT of fun and VERY MUDDY! You have to figure that a foot of snow followed by a few days with temps in the 50s is going to make for a big MESS! We came prepared and the humans wore old clothes and didn't mind getting a bit dirty to enjoy some pugginess!!!

Here are some pics of my puggy friends....
Photobucket
Looks like Lilo and Bernice in the back and then Eddie, Eli and Hank in front.

Photobucket
The pugs tried all their tricks to get at the PUPCAKES that we brought (click HERE for the recipe)

Photobucket
Harley, Sophie and Dixie Bugg got in on the action too...

Photobucket
Awww...sweet Harley!

Photobucket
Hi Sophie! I'm glad we can still be "friends" now that I'm an "outed Pug"!

Photobucket
Dixie Bugg is always adorable!

MOOOOOOOM!
Photobucket
With all these other pugs around...am I still your favorite???

Photobucket
Silly Pug...you'll ALWAYS be my favorite!!!

I decided it was ok to pose with my friend Apollo as long as our moms held onto us. That's Apollo's mom Jami. She tried wrapping Apollo in SARAN WRAP to keep him clean, but it didn't work so well!
Photobucket

We were able to inclue a FOURTH Indy Blogger in our meetup pic this month!
Photobucket
That's Stacy (Brutus's mom), ME, Kelly (Sophie, Dixie and Harley's mom) and Vikki (mom of the Pug Posse...Pippin, Eli, Ernie, Jasmine, Bernice, Eddie and Gus).

Sam (Vikki's human son) was so sweet to keep Eddie cozy!
Photobucket

For the entertainment portion of our meetup...Hank the talking Pug will say "I Love You"....

Truly amazing! Proof that a Pug will do ANYTHING for treats! HAHAHAA!

OH...we were also given this award by VIKKI from The Pug Posse! Thank you Vikki!
Photobucket
We're going to award this to Pugsley! Pugsley and his mom Heather are new to blogging and have done a great job with getting their blog off the ground!

Happy Sunday everyone! We went for a nice long walk earlier and have decided to be lazy for the rest of the day.

Pug helping Pugs

Hey mom...what's all this paper stuff?
Photobucket

Oh, how nice! A letter to businesses asking for donation items to auction/raffle for Kentuckiana Pug Rescue! This should help a LOT of my puggy friends that need help and/or medical attention! What can *I* do to help????
Photobucket

You're mailing out all of THESE? PLUS a whole other list of emails and faxes??
Photobucket

We better get crackin! You hold the envelopes and I'll lick them closed...
Photobucket

WOW...three envelopes is a LOT for a Pug like me! I'm going to take my break now and get some popcorn from Daddy...
Photobucket

I'll help more tomorrow after I've had my 23 hours of beauty sleep! Maybe I'll help you navigate to the Post Office to mail all of these because Janie the Mail Lady would have a FIT if we tried to stuff all of these in our mailbox to go out!

CONGRATS HOLDEN!

Since Holden didn't have school on Friday (snow/cold, etc.) he had to wait until YESTERDAY (Monday) to find out if he placed in the Science Fair! GUESS WHAT?
Photobucket
SECOND PLACE out of the entire 4th Grade!!!!!!!! WHOOHOO!

I had trouble reading the certificate, but mom said that it says "Maple Ridge Elementary Science Fair. This certificate is presented to Holden Lawson for Placing Second in the 4th Grade" and it is signed by the Principal!
Photobucket
Maybe Smarty-Pants Holden can teach me to read!

In addition to the honor of taking second, Holden also was awarded a $5 gift card to McDonalds! I think some ICE CREAM may be in our futures!!!!

Way to go Brother! We're all so proud of you!!!

Dog show thoughts and a heat wave!

WELL...did anyone see the Eukanuba Dog Show last night? We watched every bit of it and think that the Toy Group judge needs his eyes examined...
Photobucket
Anyone can CLEARLY see that "Boo" The Pug SHOULD have been the winner.

The Pug came in 4th place in his group. Talk about robbery!
Photobucket
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!

In other news...our weather here in Indy is beautiful today! It's in the 40's and a huge portion of our snow is gone! All of the big icicles have melted from our house and I'm getting ready to go for a walk! Holden THINKS he's going out like this...
Photobucket
Mom told him to get his fool self back in the house and put some PANTS on! Crazy Holden!!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Laaaaaazy Saturday

I, Salinger The Pug, have declared today to be "DO NOTHING DAY"! Here is how I started my fabulous day...
Photobucket
Yeah, I know mom was trying to make the big cloud bed...but *I* wasn't done sleeping in it yet!!! How rude!
Photobucket
Excuuuuuse me! I'm SLEEPING here! It's like the crack of eleven for crying out loud!

The people went and did some errands and productive things while I finished my nap. When they got home, I was able to continue my Day Of Nothing by watching the Wings game right ON mom!
Photobucket
She rubbed my tummy when she wasn't yelling at the hockey men on TV
Photobucket
Photobucket
OH...did you notice mom's SOCKS??
Photobucket
They have ME all over them!! She said it was to root for the PUG to win the Eukanuba Dog Show tonight!

The Dog show just means more time I get to lay around to round out my Day of Nothing! How perfect!

Happy Day of Nothing Saturday everyone!!

Mixed bag Thursday

Hi everyone! Ok, mom STILL is crabbing about the snow, but now that most of the roads are driveable, she's chilled out about it a little. She's probably most upset about having to reschedule my BATH at PetSmart (she would just throw me in the tub here, but she can never get me completely dry like they do and she's afraid I'll get pneumonia or something..PLUS, they grind my nails and squeeze my hiney). I REEK!!!!!!!
Photobucket
Oh sure I'm cute and everything, but mom totally should have photoshopped those "smell lines" coming off of me...like Pigpen!

Everyone help me wish Holden GOOD LUCK at the Science Fair at school today! He did SUCH a good job on his presentation (keeping bread fresh) and was so handsome this morning in his dressy pants and sweater!
Photobucket
GOOD LUCK BROTHER!!! We hope you win a big prize!!!!

THANK YOU so much to my buddies Brutus and Rosie! They both felt that we deserved this award!
Photobucket
Yeah, we totally laughed at the fact that it's 2 ladybugs GETTING IT ON, but the award represents the blogs that truly love someone or something. It´s a ladybug and they are know for giving us luck whenever we see one. We're supposed to pass this on to 5 other blogs, but we see from reading that a lot of you have already gotten it, so we're just going to call TAG on anyone that hasn't yet received it!!!!

In OTHER news...my buddy Pugsley has his VERY OWN BLOG now!!!! Pugsley has been in lots of our previous posts and he's one of my favorite playmates (think of the Seinfeldian credo "Not that there's anything WRONG with that!). Everyone CLICK HERE and go say HI! Pugsley's mom is still learning the lay of Bloggerland, so have patience! (Way to go Heather! Mom is proud of you!)

That's about all our news for today. Hope you all have a good Thursday...even though The Office is a rerun tonight! :-(

@#$%&*! SNOW!!!!!!!!

That's what mom has been saying since yesterday afternoon! It started snowing and DIDN'T STOP until around noon today (Wednesday). Just LOOK at what happened to our doorwall and my doggie door!!! How the (BEEP) am I supposed to get out and do my business???
Photobucket

Mom shoveled me a path off the deck to the tiki torch (where I usually like to conduct business)...
Photobucket

But all I did was run in and out of the house like a lunatic and run circles in the snow!
Photobucket

THEN stood back on the deck and cried because I wouldn't poop!
Photobucket

Of course school was closed and probably will be until the FOURTH OF @#$%^&* JULY!
Photobucket

Here's a lovely view of MORE @#$%&^ snow out front.
Photobucket
Yes...that is a SNOWBLOWER you see...but the piece of $%*# decided that it doesn't want to work today. Mom isn't too upset about shoveling...she says it's a good workout.

She is NONE TOO PLEASED though after talking to daddy this morning (from @#$%^& VEGAS!) He had NO CLUE that we were snowed in and told us all about the yummy steak he had last night and how much fun he had hitting the strip with his boss last night. I think she wanted to slug him.
Photobucket

Ok...we're going back outside to shovel some more of this @#$%^& snow. Wish us luck.

I'm a GOOD driver!

I got to go on a road trip to Dayton, OH with Mommy and Holden on Friday afternoon! Holden took this picture of me...
Photobucket

Today (Sunday), Daddy is flying on an airplane to Las Vegas for a long, boring, tedious work conference all week (yeah, we don't feel sorry for him either!). I just emailed the above picture to him with the following note:

****************
Hi Daddy!

If you win lots of money in Vegas, will you buy me my own car? I'm a VERY good driver!

I love you!

Salinger
*****************

Paws crossed! I'll let you know what he says!

**UPDATE**
Here is daddy's reply to my note yesterday! Let's all wish him luck!

"Daddy's only won a paltry six bucks so far, but the week is young. If I do hit it big, I'll let YOU be my chaffeur!!!! I can tell you handle driving like a Secret Service agent!!!!
I love you!"
***************
Put it all on RED NINE daddy!!!!

Stuffie help STAT!

PAGING DR. HOLDEN TO THE STUFFIE E.R. STAT!!!!
Photobucket

Dr. Holden...we have an emergency with two favorite stuffies! Can they be saved?

Victim #1.
Photobucket
Victim #1. "Nipsey" Male Purple Monkey with one eye and one nipple (the matching eye and nipple are MIA and assumed to have been EATEN by one Salinger The Pug), is suffering a major headwound behind the left ear.

Victim #2
Photobucket
Victim #2. "Spike" Male Bulldog with NO eyes (again, both eyes assumed to have been EATEN by Salinger The Pug) also suffering from major stuffing loss from each eye socket.

Dr. Holden examines the victims with his trusty reflex hammer (hey...HE'S the doctor!)...
Photobucket

Dr. Holden has ordered several rounds of stitches for both victims and says they will be fine. Nurse Mom gave each patient several stitches and both are fully recovered!
Photobucket
Salinger was advised not to eat any more body parts off of his friends, but we doubt he will take this under advisement.

THANK YOU DOCTOR HOLDEN! You saved the day!!!
Photobucket

***Mom's note*** I feel I must add that we DISCOVERED these lacerations on the 2 victims after Salinger was spotted doing the "butt drag" around the backyard. Upon further inspection, he required MANUAL EXTRACTION of a very LOOOOONG piece of stuffing/cotton from his posterior. Nuff said. ENJOY YOUR LUNCH EVERYONE!!!! :-)

Spring fakeout!

Hi everyone!

Our weather has been on the warm side for January in Indiana! This afternoon it was sunny and the thermometer said 45 so Mom grabbed my leash and said "LET'S GO!"
Photobucket
It felt so good to get out for an actual walk again!

We walked all over the neighborhood and stopped and visited with Janie the Mail Lady for a few minutes and waved at a few other people out walking too.

Here is a tiny patch of snow that is left in our front yard.
Photobucket
GO AWAY SNOW!!!

It felt so warm, I even checked to see if any of Mommy's tulips decided to wake up yet.
Photobucket
Nope...no sprouts yet! I think it will be a little while longer!

We were glad to get out today because the Weather Guy said that it's supposed to turn COLD again for tomorrow and the weekend! BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Look at these treats!!

Mom was shopping at Whole Foods the other day and saw THESE!

Photobucket

HAHAHAHAAA! Look at that ridiculous HAT that poor guy is wearing!!!!!

Mom didn't buy me any because A. They were crazy expensive (like everything else at Whole Paycheck...er...we mean Whole Foods) and B. She was honked off that they were OUT of the only 2 things she went in there for in the first place (ostrich and carob chips) so she left empty handed in protest. She even resisted a stop at the Make-your-own-almond butter machine, so you know she was really mad! She's pretty sure her not buying anything will TOTALLY fix their little red wagon! ;-)

Happy Hump Day everyone!!!

I'm an only Pug again!

Yep...that's right! Maggie went home to her family last night and I'm not sure what to think today!
Photobucket

Mommy keeps trying to snuggle me and play with me, but I'm so sleepy! She isn't sure if I'm sad, or just catching up on my ZZZs after so much playing...
Photobucket

That's all I have to report today. Maybe something exciting will happen later!

FUN weekend!

Hi everyone! I had the BEST time this weekend! My buddy Pugsley came over to play with Maggie and I!

Mommy made some new treats for us (recipe at the end!). They were APPLE CINNAMON and very yummy!
Photobucket
That's Maggie, Pugsley in the middle and ME (not exhibiting good manners in this picture!).

We had a really fun time making a PUG PILE on top of our moms!
Photobucket
That's my mom on the left (Laura) and Pugsley's mom (Heather) on the right.

HAHAHA...I have googly puggy eyes in this picture!
Photobucket

THEN...things started to get out of control (like they tend to do when Pugsley is here!)
Photobucket

Good grief! Cover your eyes everyone!!!
Photobucket

Perhaps it was the treats.......hmmmmmmm.

Here is the recipe. It's sort of a ballpark recipe...mom just dumps stuff in until it looks "right". Sometimes it works out pretty well, other times...not so much!

Apple Cinnamon Puggy Cookies

1 whole apple, grated (skin and all...just fish the seeds out)
1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup oats
between 1/2 and 3/4 cup water
1/4 cup honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon

Mix it together until it forms a stiff dough (add more flour or water as you need). Roll out on a floured counter/board and roll to around 1/4 inch thick and cut out in various shapes. Bake on parchment lined cookie sheets on 350 for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes until crunchy.

A pug has been saved......is it my turn now? (haha)

This is Laura...hijacking Salinger's blog again! I went with Vikki (Pug Posse) and Kelly (Pugs and Bugg) to pick up Vikki's new Foster Pug today!
Photobucket
Here is Vikki with Eddie! Poor baby is SO skinny but a VERY sweet boy!

Eddie is in great hands and had SO much fun with all of his new brothers and sisters! He's a great addition to the Posse! Make sure to drop by Vikki's Blog to see more pics and to keep tabs on Eddie's progress!

On a personal note...it was so great to get out of the house and hang out with some GIRLS for a change. I often feel a bit overwhelmed here in the House of Testosterone...as exhibited by the video below.

Please save me!!!!!
