Horrible Ad!

We received our weekly ad from Meijer yesterday. For those of you outside of the midwest, it's a retail chain that sells everything from groceries to car accessories, like a Super WalMart but not as many freaks walking around. Ordinarily, the weekly ad for Meijer doesn't cause much of a ruckus around the house...until we saw THIS in yesterday's ad!!!!


Can you SEE it??? The ad says "Love Your Pet" and there is a pic of some goofy Golden Retriever chowing down on some food while THIS poor guy is forced to watch from his cell!


Mom says she has half a mind to send one of her famous gripe letters to Meijer headquarters to ask them WTF this poor puggy did to deserve this cruel and unusual punishment! I mean REALLY...no toys...no pillow....no blankie....just MEAN!

Now THIS is a crate, ladies, gents and pugs!

A nice cushy pillow topped with soft stuff, blankets and a nice bone pillow for my head!

What are those morons at Meijer thinking?

***MOM'S NOTE***
Sandra's comment and two emails I just got from people have caused me (mom) to clarify...Salinger hasn't "used" his crate since he was a baby...but he likes to lounge in it during the day sometimes (door open) while I'm in here working. We keep it handy for when repair people come to the house because Salinger is always under the impression that they are here to see HIM and that's not always a good thing.

Rain, rain go away!

Ok...it's 57 degrees outside and we SHOULD be out walking....RIGHT?

Look at our radar right now.....we've gotten 2 inches of rain in the last few hours and they claim we're going to get at least one more and we're all under flood advisories!

Remember...this is in addition to the foot of melted snow that we have!

It's a big ol mess out there...I changed my mind...I want to stay inside!

DOG SHOW!

This is a friendly reminder to all that the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is on USA tonight from 8-11!!!

We will be flipping between the dog show, the Red Wings game and moms eleventy five recorded episodes of her boyfriend Anthony Bourdain (she hasn't watched last night's yet...so SHHHHHHH!). The TV is going to be humming at our house tonight!

February's muddy meetup and an award!

Yesterday was the February Indy Pug Meetup and it was a LOT of fun and VERY MUDDY! You have to figure that a foot of snow followed by a few days with temps in the 50s is going to make for a big MESS! We came prepared and the humans wore old clothes and didn't mind getting a bit dirty to enjoy some pugginess!!!

I decided it was ok to pose with my friend Apollo as long as our moms held onto us. That's Apollo's mom Jami. She tried wrapping Apollo in SARAN WRAP to keep him clean, but it didn't work so well!

WOW...three envelopes is a LOT for a Pug like me! I'm going to take my break now and get some popcorn from Daddy...


I'll help more tomorrow after I've had my 23 hours of beauty sleep! Maybe I'll help you navigate to the Post Office to mail all of these because Janie the Mail Lady would have a FIT if we tried to stuff all of these in our mailbox to go out!

CONGRATS HOLDEN!

Since Holden didn't have school on Friday (snow/cold, etc.) he had to wait until YESTERDAY (Monday) to find out if he placed in the Science Fair! GUESS WHAT?

SECOND PLACE out of the entire 4th Grade!!!!!!!! WHOOHOO!


I had trouble reading the certificate, but mom said that it says "Maple Ridge Elementary Science Fair. This certificate is presented to Holden Lawson for Placing Second in the 4th Grade" and it is signed by the Principal!

Maybe Smarty-Pants Holden can teach me to read!

In addition to the honor of taking second, Holden also was awarded a $5 gift card to McDonalds! I think some ICE CREAM may be in our futures!!!!


Way to go Brother! We're all so proud of you!!!

Dog show thoughts and a heat wave!

WELL...did anyone see the Eukanuba Dog Show last night? We watched every bit of it and think that the Toy Group judge needs his eyes examined...

Anyone can CLEARLY see that "Boo" The Pug SHOULD have been the winner.

The Pug came in 4th place in his group. Talk about robbery!

In other news...our weather here in Indy is beautiful today! It's in the 40's and a huge portion of our snow is gone! All of the big icicles have melted from our house and I'm getting ready to go for a walk! Holden THINKS he's going out like this...

Mom told him to get his fool self back in the house and put some PANTS on! Crazy Holden!!!!

Laaaaaazy Saturday

I, Salinger The Pug, have declared today to be "DO NOTHING DAY"! Here is how I started my fabulous day...

Yeah, I know mom was trying to make the big cloud bed...but *I* wasn't done sleeping in it yet!!! How rude!

Excuuuuuse me! I'm SLEEPING here! It's like the crack of eleven for crying out loud!


The people went and did some errands and productive things while I finished my nap. When they got home, I was able to continue my Day Of Nothing by watching the Wings game right ON mom!

She rubbed my tummy when she wasn't yelling at the hockey men on TV


OH...did you notice mom's SOCKS??

They have ME all over them!! She said it was to root for the PUG to win the Eukanuba Dog Show tonight!

The Dog show just means more time I get to lay around to round out my Day of Nothing! How perfect!

Mixed bag Thursday

Hi everyone! Ok, mom STILL is crabbing about the snow, but now that most of the roads are driveable, she's chilled out about it a little. She's probably most upset about having to reschedule my BATH at PetSmart (she would just throw me in the tub here, but she can never get me completely dry like they do and she's afraid I'll get pneumonia or something..PLUS, they grind my nails and squeeze my hiney). I REEK!!!!!!!

Oh sure I'm cute and everything, but mom totally should have photoshopped those "smell lines" coming off of me...like Pigpen!


Everyone help me wish Holden GOOD LUCK at the Science Fair at school today! He did SUCH a good job on his presentation (keeping bread fresh) and was so handsome this morning in his dressy pants and sweater!

GOOD LUCK BROTHER!!! We hope you win a big prize!!!!


THANK YOU so much to my buddies Brutus and Rosie! They both felt that we deserved this award!

Yeah, we totally laughed at the fact that it's 2 ladybugs GETTING IT ON, but the award represents the blogs that truly love someone or something. It´s a ladybug and they are know for giving us luck whenever we see one. We're supposed to pass this on to 5 other blogs, but we see from reading that a lot of you have already gotten it, so we're just going to call TAG on anyone that hasn't yet received it!!!!


In OTHER news...my buddy Pugsley has his VERY OWN BLOG now!!!! Pugsley has been in lots of our previous posts and he's one of my favorite playmates (think of the Seinfeldian credo "Not that there's anything WRONG with that!). Everyone CLICK HERE and go say HI! @#$%&*! SNOW!!!!!!!!

That's what mom has been saying since yesterday afternoon! It started snowing and DIDN'T STOP until around noon today (Wednesday). Just LOOK at what happened to our doorwall and my doggie door!!! How the (BEEP) am I supposed to get out and do my business???



Mom shoveled me a path off the deck to the tiki torch (where I usually like to conduct business)...


But all I did was run in and out of the house like a lunatic and run circles in the snow!


THEN stood back on the deck and cried because I wouldn't poop!


Of course school was closed and probably will be until the FOURTH OF @#$%^&* JULY!

Yes...that is a SNOWBLOWER you see...but the piece of $%*# decided that it doesn't want to work today. Mom isn't too upset about shoveling...she says it's a good workout.

She is NONE TOO PLEASED though after talking to daddy this morning (from @#$%^& VEGAS!) He had NO CLUE that we were snowed in and told us all about the yummy steak he had last night and how much fun he had hitting the strip with his boss last night. I think she wanted to slug him.


Ok...we're going back outside to shovel some more of this @#$%^& snow. Wish us luck.
