Reading and another new friend!

Hey everyone!

Mom says she is still wiped out from the weekend and "cake week" (she is making FIVE different birthday cakes this week...OY!!!). We don't have any cute stories to post really, so here are some cute pics of me READING a puggy card that we got in the mail!

But I read it all by myself. It said "Thanks...Woof" HAHAHAHA! Since I'm bi-lingual (Human and Pug) I totally understood BOTH!

Here is a pic of mom and I and then Apollo with his mommy Jami! This was our MUDDY February meetup and Apollo's mom wrapped him up in SARAN WRAP to help keep him clean!!!!

As you can see from the first two pics here...Daddy is already decked out in his IRELAND shirt (I'm sure you couldn't tell by looking at him (Kevin Kelley!) that he MIGHT be a teensy bit Irish) Tomorrow is the big holiday of "his people" so expect an extra special post tomorrow in his honor!

March In The Pugs 2009!

We had so much fun at the Kentuckiana Pug Rescue event here in Indy yesterday called March In The Pugs!

Mom and I sold raffle tickets with Pugsley and Heather and we hope KPR made a wad of cash to help out our puggy friends that need it!

We don't have any kind of creative story to tell, so we're just going to post pics from our fun day! Enjoy!

This Bulldog named Reggie came to the event with a PUG COSTUME on! HAHAHA!



Pippin and his mom Vikki won the shedding contest PAWS DOWN! Look at that pile of fur!!!

This PIRATE FAMILY tied with Pugs and Bugg for first place in the group costume contest!!!! It's hard to see, but the little pugs were dressed as a mermaid and a pirate!



Pugsley was the cutest lion ever!

Melissa and Emmitt were so generous and donated a few of their Pug prints to be included in the raffe! Here are one of them waiting for their new owner! Mom noticed the bags holding the raffle tickets for those baskets with Melissa's prints were VERY full!! THANK YOU MELISSA AND EMMITT!



I think the highlight of the day was probably the KISSING CONTEST! Mom and Heather decided to trade Pugs since Pugsley and I are "kissier" with people other than our own moms.....Here we are getting ready..........SET........KISS!


Mom said she really doesn't want to talk about what happened here.........(LOL!) She said she got carried away in the spirit of the competition.
Mom thinks that Eli and Vikki from Pug Posse took first...but she was too traumatized to hear the announcer clearly.



BUT...mom and Pugsley won THIRD place and a cool prize bag!



Ummmm...ok Pugsley...the competition is over......time to shut it down!



We had such a fun day and were so happy to help with such a great cause! We can't wait for the next one!!!

Birthday wrap up and a message to Stuart Little

Happy Hump Day everyone (a.k.a. EVERY day to me! :-)

Mom has been swamped with work lately, so she's been slacking BIG TIME with her blogging duties for me. She apologized and then rubbed my tummy, so I can't stay mad at her.

FIRST off...THANK YOU to everyone for all the nice birthday wishes for Holden!

Holden called this my "birthday suit" but then quickly corrected himself!

He turned 10 on Sunday and we had a WHIRLWIND birthday weekend for him! Pug meetup, black light putt putt, laser tag, lots of arcade games, bumper cars, bowling, cake, and PRESENTS!!!!

He got a lot of good loot, and mom made a donation to Kentuckiana Pug Rescue for "Teddy" in Holden's name!

Here is Holden and mom and Holden's much anticipated "Croquembouche" that he wanted instead of a birthday cake this year! It's just a fancy schmancy French term for "big pile o' cream puffs"

Make a wish!!!


So after all the birthday festivities...Monday was a BEAUTIFUL spring day! Mom and Holden took me for a walk and we wanted to show mom's tulips coming up!


THEN............look what we found in the grass!............

EEEEUUUUWWWWW!

Mom screamed and ran in the house (yeah...every Superwoman has their Kryptonite!) but Holden and I checked it out and he took pics.

We found it very fitting to find this "Stuart Little" dead on the lawn! For those of you that don't know, there was a VERY mean man from the UK that called himself "Stuart Little" that posted some VERY awful things about some of our Pug friends online. We arent' going to bore you with details, but think some of you (Vikki, Dennis, Kelly...) will get a bit of a smile out of this if you think of it in terms of "The Godfather"



Is it a message? Stuart Little sleeps with the fishes? ;-)



Remember..."it's just business" and **NO mice were harmed on our watch...this was nature in action, so please don't send us hate mail about this poor vermin and his alleged suffering or whatever**

Take that Stuart Little!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOLDEN!!!

Today, my human brother Holden is TEN years old! WOW! Double digits...a whole decade! Mom keep saying she can't believe it and has been looking through old pictures and practically OD'ing on nostalgia. Silly mom wants to post some pics to highlight the last 10 years of Holden's life.

First...this is the FIRST picture ever taken of Holden...he was only a few seconds old!

March 8, 1999...best day of mom's life!


Holden was SUCH a good baby and mom says she hardly ever put him down!

He liked kissy face back then too!


Holden grew and grew and mom dressed him outfits, each one more ridiculous than the next!

But he always looked handsome and smiley!

Holden's 3rd Halloween...right after 9-11, he dressed up as a FIREMAN! :-)


Since there are too many pictures for mom to choose from for the next years, she decided to be fair and just show all of his school pics because they were all taken around the same time of year and will best show how much he's changed...

Pug Puff and Paws Game

Hi everyone!

Nothing much new to report today except I went on THREE walks (one with Mommy, one with Holden and then one with Mommy AND Daddy together!). I was all amped up tonight being crazy and playing "Puff and Paws" with Mommy. Here are the rules:

Both Pug and Human must be on the floor

Human initiates game by "puffing" on the Pug

Human may then raise the stakes by attempting to touch Pug's paws

Pug then LUNGES full speed at Human's face and freaks out human thinking they are going to be nipped, but Pug really only licks them.

Everyone who plays is a winner!

Here we are in action........Enjoy!

Mom says for everyone to please disregard her disheveled appearance...she HAD been on two walks this afternoon so her hair was all blown apart and crazy/stringy looking. Jeeez...guess she should have checked a mirror before committing to the camera tonight!

Brunch with my PUG FAMILY!

Hi everyone!

We had so much fun yesterday (Sunday). Mom invited my PugMom and PugBro over (with their humans) for brunch!

This is my PugMommy Gertie in the pink and my PugBro Bert in green. The humans are Nancy and Gracie (she's 10 and has been friends with Holden since they were itty bitties)


Mom and Nancy used to be neighbors and are still good friends...



Mom made lots of yummy food (WHY didn't we get pics???) and then we had playtime!

My PugMommy Gertie has always loved my daddy (Kevin) and vice versa!

I have my PugMommy's eyes!!!


Mom and Nancy did some stuff on the computer while Bert and I sat on their laps



Then I was really excited to sit on Nancy's lap...REEEEEEALLY excited....look close!

Come on Mom! This is a FAMILY blog for cripe's sake!!!!


So that was our fun visit. My Pug family went home with their humans and I got mommy's lap alllll to myself!
