Happy Spring Break

Hi again!

I'm all settled in at Little Rascals Pet Motel with my mom Gertie and brother Bert!
Photobucket
We're having our own Spring Break party just like college kids do! Welllll...maybe not EXACTLY like that, but we're having a blast anyway!

We're in the Teddy Bear Suite! Mommy took some pics before she left.
Photobucket
I love this big pink bed!

We have a TV in our room and we can watch Animal Planet as much as we want to!
Photobucket

Mom was a big ol sap and cried for half an hour when she dropped us off...BUT...she is very excited for the trip she and daddy and Holden are taking to sunny Arizona to see Mimi and Pa! They leave REALLY early in the morning on Sunday and mommy is thinking about just pulling something she used to do called an "all nighter".

Mom will post pics when she gets back. We're going to have a VERY special post next weekend because it's our April Pug Meetup and we hope to get a new picture of all of the Indy Pug bloggers...including our NEWEST buddy...HANK! He is a very cool pug and his mom Sarah and dad Scott are VERY cool too. CLICK HERE to meet Hank and say HI!

HAPPY SPRING BREAK EVERYONE!!!!

Pug sitting!

Hi there! I am sharing my house with my PugMom (Gertie) and brother (Bert) today! They came over last night and we're all going to the Doggie Hotel today while our humans are all on vacation! All 3 of us are going to stay in the Teddy Bear VID suite! It's my favorite room there (the Safari Suite is my other fave!).

Here we are last night...ready for a walk!
Photobucket

Here is a close up of my pretty mommy, Gertie!
Photobucket
She is so sweet!

This is my brother Bert
Photobucket
He's "not right". He smashed his face into a jetski trailer hitch when he was a puppy and he's been as dumb as a bag of hammers ever since. Poor thing.

Of course you all know MOI (Salinger)...

Photobucket
Listen up Pugs....I'm king of this castle...capisce?

We all took turns "pugging" everyone last night! I bet some of you didn't know that PUG is also a VERB did you.......allow me to explain....

Photobucket
Holden=pugged!

Photobucket
Holden's dad (Doug)= pugged!

Photobucket
Brother Will = pugged!

Photobucket
Daddy = pugged (although this pic just shows him as being GertiePugged)

Photobucket
Mommy = couch pugged...

Photobucket
AND kissed!

We leave you with a cute picture of Bert and I this morning having our breakfast.
Photobucket
Mom gets all wigged out with "puggy butt" pics. She's sick and wrong.

Mom is going to take pics of us in our VID (Very Important Dog) suite at Little Rascals later!!!! Stay tuned!

Nice card and nice butcher bone!

Hey everyone! Mom (nervous mother she is) took me to see Dr. Graves the other day because I have a little bumpy thing above my left eye. Turns out it's no big whoop and he said it was a "sty in the eye" and gave me some medicine and it's already just about gone. BUT...yesterday I got this in the mail!!!
Photobucket
Dr. Graves and his whole office sent me a GET WELL CARD!

It was nice, but didn't taste very good.
Photobucket

My butcher bone was MUCH yummier!

Nom nom nom nom!

April freshness!

Ok, well, it's not quite April yet, but I had fun helping mommy put clean sheets on the big cloud bed the other day!

After all that fun and snorting, I had to take a nap......
Photobucket

Mom, try not to disturb me with the rest of your housekeeping duties...OH, and this featherbed could use some more shaking...I'd like it puffier please!

Happy Birthday Will !!!!!

Oh my...ANOTHER birthday at our house this past weekend! Yesterday was my stepbrother WILL's birthday!
Photobucket
Mommy and Daddy gave him this card with this goofy pug on it! I am SO glad I look NOTHING like this and am CLEARLY much more refined and sophisticated!

Will turned FIFTEEN and he got lots of cool presents! I even got to help him unwrap them!
Photobucket
This was a charging station for his PS3 controllers. COOL!

Mom made him a vanilla bean buttermilk cake with cream cheese frosting! Will requested something "vanilla and not too sweet" and mom thought this would be perfect.
Photobucket
That is a giant sugar cookie on top that is supposed to look like the masked guy from a video game Will loves called "Killzone 3"

Since it WASN'T CHOCOLATE I got to have a tiny taste!
Photobucket
MMMMM...vanilla!

For the entertainment portion of the party, I did my Elvis impersonation!
Photobucket
"Bring me a PB Nanner sammich!"

I gave my Will lots of birthday kisses too!
Photobucket
Happy birthday buddy!!!!!

*****Vanilla Bean Buttermilk Cake Recipe*******
This takes some work...but it's worth it....the little flecks of vanilla beans are so pretty!

3 cups flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 whole vanilla beans, split and scraped (it may help to soak them in water first)
1/2 cup room temp. butter
1/2 cup canola oil
1.5 cups sugar
5 large eggs
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1 Tbsp vanilla extract

Start by creaming the butter and sugar together, add eggs, oil, vanilla bean scrapings and then alternate between dry ingredients and buttermilk until combined.

Bake at 350 and depending on what size pans you use, you'll want to bake 40-45 min for a 9x13 pan, maybe 25-30 for 9 inch rounds, 15-20 for cupcakes (this is just a guideline...every oven is different...my advice it keep checking it and pull it when it's "done")

I decided to use a cream cheese frosting and cut the powdered sugar back because the birthday boy prefers it that way......

1 8 oz package cream cheese (yeah, you can use reduced fat if you want, but DO NOT use fat free...it's just wrong on so many levels)

1 stick soft butter (use real butter)

dash of vanilla

Beat together either using a stand or hand mixer and then add
3 C powdered sugar.

Taste it and if you need/want it sweeter....keep adding powdered sugar. You can thin out with a tiny dribble of milk if you like it softer.

GOOD LUCK!

Holden's party!

Hey everyone! I am STILL wiped out from Holden's party on Friday night! We had Holden's birthday party with his friends a few weeks after his actual birthday because he and some of his buddies and stepbrother Will went to a HOCKEY game and then stayed here for a sleepover!

The Indiana Ice are always fun to watch and Holden loves Big E. Foot...their mascot!
Photobucket

They also have some cute cheerleaders/dancers called "Chill Girls". Mom laughed when the boys got to pose with Steph and got all quiet and shy! HAHAHAHA
Photobucket

FINALLY they all got home and then the party could refocus on ME!

Here I am waiting for brother's hockey rink cake to be carried to him...
Photobucket

Check it out...do you see who the goalie is???
Photobucket

It's HOLDEN wearing Habs goalie gear! HAHAHAHA!
Photobucket

After cake, the boys built this GIANT blanket fort to sleep inside!
Photobucket

I got to go inside and hang with them!
Photobucket

Photobucket

Ok...this marks the OFFICIAL CLOSE of Holden's "birthday season"!!! Stay tuned for a special post tomorrow (if mom isn't all lame and lazy and forgets to post!) about my stepbrother WILL's birthday which is TODAY!!!!!!

Happy Sunday everyone!

Cheeto trick....FAIL

Greetings everyone!
Photobucket
I, the amazing Salinger (yeah, and my dolty assistant MOM), will show you how NOT to do a trick!

See Daddy with his baked Cheetos?
Photobucket
I LOVE BAKED CHEETOS!!!!

I'll sit nicely for them...or shake, high five...whatever...
Photobucket

ANYTHING for Cheetos!!!
Photobucket

EXCEPT............

Mommy stuck a Cheeto in her mouth and tried to get me to take it
Photobucket

I was being turdley and just ignored her. I don't know WHAT she was thinking with all this jackassery.....I don't have time for this crap!
Photobucket

HEY...there goes Daddy with the Cheeto bag!
Photobucket
BYE MOM! Good luck with that trick! Maybe some other sap will come along and want that bogarted Cheeto!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

TOP O' THE MORNIN' TO YA! Happy St. Paddy's Day to everyone!
Photobucket
I, Salinger Jack O'Kelley-Lawson am missing my daddy terribly today! Mom says that St. Patrick's Day is "HIS" holiday but he's stuck in some stuffy conference room in Orlando right now listening to boring people all week! Normally he would be dancing around all silly-like and talking like the Lucky Charms Man all day....so we dedicate this post to HIM!
Photobucket
(Hmmm...mommy never realized just how much Daddy and Lucky look alike!!!...Weird!)

FIRST off...here is the "Kelley" family crest. Daddy did a lot of research about this and even has a nice one that we need to have framed.
Photobucket

This is me posing with a cool shamrock plate that we have on our counter in the kitchen. Mimi gave this to us!
Photobucket

Here is another cool plate from Mimi. Mom likes to serve fancy things on it.
Photobucket
She didn't put anything fancy on it today for me. Bummer.

We have a cool Guinness sign in our kitchen. Mommy says it's one of the yummiest beverages on the planet...
Photobucket
She says "NOT FOR PUGGIES" so I guess I have to trust her on this.

I AM allowed to sit on Daddy's Guinness pajama bottoms though!
Photobucket
SO soft!

Mommy is going to make these yummy Irish Bangers for Daddy for dinner when he gets back from his trip!
Photobucket
They're tucked safely in the freezer for now!

I'm all wound up waiting for Daddy to get home! HAHAHAHA
Photobucket
Can you tell? Sorry I stole your green yarn, Mommy!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! We hope you have a great day whether you're Irish or not!!!!
