Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Daddy's birthday!!!! We've been celebrating all weekend and he took today off from work, so we're letting him sleep in.

Here I am helping him blow out his candle on his birthday cake!

Make a wish Daddy!!!!

Don't worry...I didn't get any of the chocolate/puggy poison cake. I got a gingerbread doggie cookie instead!

Mom copied the ruffled top of this cake from one she saw a lady make with Julia Child (click here to see it). Daddy wanted to Indy Blogger fave...the AYFKM chocolate/buttercream cake. Nom nom nom nom!

Mom and I are going to rerun Daddy's birthday post from last year because we love the pictures so much!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!!!! I love you!

Daddy (aka Kevin to some of you) grew up in Greenville, SC and went to The Citadel in Charleston, SC. Here is a picture of him when he was a REALLY young Cadet!

I think it's safe to say that daddy now prefers PUGS to bulldogs! Here's proof....this is the day I picked him to be my daddy!

I kissed him, mommy and Holden! That's how they knew I wanted them to be my family!

Daddy helped take such good care of me when I was a tiny puppy!

We became good buddies as soon as they brought me home!

Hangin' with Hank and O'Mally

Hi everyone! Look who came over to visit the other day!!!!

HANK

and MOLLY O'MALLY!

Of course Aunt Sarah came too, but she and mom just spent the whole time running their yappers.

We exchanged Christmas presents! Look what they got for me!

A talking Mr. Bill stuffie! (OHHH NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!)

...and my very own SPA SET! Monogrammed towels (S for Salinger) and a nice soothing candle!

Boy...do they know me or WHAT? Perfect gift! Thanks guys!

We gave Aunt Sarah (and Scott) some truffles and then we made treats for Hank and O'Mally....gingerbread for Hank and soft giblet muffins for O'Mally. Sorry...no pics.

The moms had some lunch while we pugs stood there salivating and starving.

Hey lady, are you gonna finish that???

After lunch we all played together and tried to steal Christmas cookies.

Mom got all huggy with Hank

Hank acts like a tough guy...but he's really an old softie that loves hugs and snuggles!

Thanks for coming over and for the cool gifts guys!!! Mom says we have to do it again soon!

Freakshow Friday

Oh HI mom! I'm just sunning myself here in the door with my Pug stuffie Phoebe!

What's that you say? Phoebe's EAR? Well why would I know anything about Phoebe's ear and the trends she chooses to follow?

Yeah...it does look like she's been using ear gauges....

Innnnnteresting...

I'll bet she's been hanging out with THESE folks...

Too bad Phoebe doesn't wear clothes...I have the perfect gift card idea for her for Christmas!

CLEARLY the girl is a freak!

Happy Friday everyone!!!

Santa Paws!

Hi everyone! Yesterday, Mom and Dad got me all dressed in my red Santa shirt and Christmas tie and then I got to go for a car ride....to THIS place!

OOOHHHH BOY! I LOOOOOOVE PetSmart!!!!

Normally we walk around and visit the C*TS and birds, but THIS time I got to visit SANTA PAWS!!!!

This was a very important visit because I had to stress to Santa what a good Puggy I've been all year and how IMPORTANT it is that he bring me THIS...

Mommy and I can be TWINS!

After I visited with Santa, we walked over to the training center where I took all of my classes. I heard a familiar voice and got ALL excited!!! It was my trainer RICK!

It was so good to see him! I gave him snuggles and a kiss and told him I'd missed him! He even gave me some yummy treats because I did a good "sit" for him.

So after all that fun stuff...I KNEW there had to be a catch!!! Mom hauled me back to the GROOMING SALON and I got a nail grinding. I don't mind the dremmel thing as much as I do clipping, so it only took THREE people to get the job done.

My other buddy Jason is off to the side and didn't get in the picture...but trust me...it takes THREE people to give me a pawticure!!!!

Mom gave me some cheese on the ride home and I made sure to leave lots of Pug-snooter on the car windows as a thank you.

What did all of YOU do this weekend?

Pajama humiliation

Ok everyone...I can't believe I'm actually posting these pictures, but I'm only doing it to show the latest in the saga that is the humiliation I am forced to endure at the hands of my family.

Mom got the bright idea that I need PAJAMAS to keep me warm at night...SO she got in cahoots with Debbie (a.k.a. Punchy) and next thing I knew, I looked like THIS...

Dad calls this getup my "Union underwear" and mom is all squealy about the "door" thing in the back!

Now I ask you....WHY in the name of all that is holy should I, Salinger The Pug, endure these indignaties??? Haven't I been the perfect companion dog?

My only option is to speak with Santa Paws at PetSmart and beg him to leave COAL for my evil people.

***Mom's note*** Ok, SERIOUSLY...how CUTE does he look in these??? You can go visit Punchy over at PugPosessed OR go check out her ETSY SHOP to see about keeping your puggy warm and adorable this winter too!!!!

Man-date with Pugsley!

My hot boyfriend Pugsley came over last night (with his mom and Lola) because we hadn't seen each other in a while!

We had a LOT of catching up to do!!!! Here we are chatting about it...

Mom is LOLing because she says I sound like Snoopy in the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving episode when he gets in the fight with the lawn chair!

Sorry...we digress!

ANYWAY....after Pugsley and I talked for a bit, we got down to some KISSING!!!

We're glad that our parents are supportive of our "alternative lifestyle"....but we aren't sure what Lola's take on this is.....

This is like one of those "I Spy" pictures...black puggy on a black sofa on Heather's lap who is wearing black pants!

Happy Thursday everyone....we hope you get to spend time with the person/pug you love the most too!

Decking the halls...

FA LA LA LA LA...LA LA LA LAAAAAAAAA! (AAAAHHH...MOM! Stop singing!!!!)

Mom, Dad and Holden have been busy lugging boxes, totes and putting up these big honkin' TREES all over the house and using all kinds of bad words when discussing outdoor lighting! I seem to remember this same type of thing happening the last TWO years right around this time too! Hmmmm.

Holden took me around to explain what each tree was for...

1. This is the big main family tree...

I'm saying "HOLY CRAP THIS TREE IS TAAAAAALL!"

It's NINE feet tall and FULL of ornaments that mom, dad, Holden, Will and Lizz have both had since they were tiny kids. It's quite a collection!

2. Holden and I are in front of Dad's CITADEL TREE in the study!

Dad went to college at The Citadel in South Carolina and has collected a lot of Citadel ornaments over the years. We think it's cool that his old shako is the topper!

3. Now I'm upstairs showing you Mom's LYRE TREE

When mom was in college, she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and their symbol is a lyre. She has collected lyre ornaments ever since then and is now up to SIXTY ONE different lyres! WOW!

4. Next, Holden took me into the kitchen to explain the newest addition to our tree collection....the RED tree!

It's only 4 feet tall, so we decided to put it in the kitchen and hang all of our FOOD related ornaments on it! YUM!
(Mom says THANK YOU to dad for getting his butt out of bed the day after Christmas last year and schlepping to WalMart to pick this tree up for her for $5 because she was yammering about it ALLLL last year!)

5. This tree is kind of cool....it's ONLY used to display our CURRENT ornaments that are new this year!

You remember our Thanksgiving post about our family tradition after dinner...right? Everyone gets a new ornament that somehow is special for THEM only. Next year, they'll go on the big family tree and the NEW ornaments will go on this little tree.

SO...you can see that we've REAAALLY decked the halls this year! Mom says it's to make up for the lameness of last year when the house was done up as "Christmas Lite" because she was recovering from a little nip/tuck! (click here for a gross pic)

Ok, so OUR halls are decked....we hope you'll share YOURS with us too!!!!
