Case of the Crazies!

Mom cleaned out all the old pics and videos from her phone and found THIS from a few weeks ago!

Mom and Dad take me for a long walk almost every evening, and if there isn't anyone around up at the big park, they let me run loose and chase the @#$%& Geese (a.k.a. Crap Machines) into the lake!!!! I had just chased off a HUGE flock of them, leaving the park safe for all!

Happy Thursday!

This is me....begging!!!

Hi everyone! Normally I'm much too proud and aloof to beg (hahaha) but for the next few days, I'm going to be on my PugKnees begging for your help.

See? This is my BEGGING face!

Some of you may know that my peeps and local friends are huge fans/supporters of Kentuckiana Pug Rescue (KPR). KPR helps SO many Puggies move on to better lives and is made up of 100% volunteer efforts! To raise money for the Pugs currently in foster care (over 80!) and in need of medical attention, KPR holds a few events during the year that bring in some much needed dollars. One of these events is coming up on March 5 right here in Indy....MARCH IN THE PUGS! CLICK HERE to read all about it!

Part of the fun (and a great moneymaker) of March in the Pugs is the RAFFLE TABLE!!!

Do you recognize this work of art? Our amazingly talented friends MELISSA AND EMMITT donated some great prints to be raffled last year (and the year before) and have kindly agreed to send another donation THIS year! THANK YOU guys!

Another amazingly talented friend, PUNCHY, donated these goodies last year too!

(Oh...HI Flat Brutus!)

Trust me...people FLOCKED to the raffle tables for a chance to win one of these fabulous items!!!!

SO...my point of looking sad, pathetic and BEGGY today is to ask all of my friends/loyal readers/first time lurkers and even people that read us just for the jackassery factor, to PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING SOMETHING FOR OUR RAFFLE TABLE FOR OUR EVENT ON MARCH 5!!!!

Even if you're not crafty or artistic...GIFT CARDS are always a great raffle item (restaurants, Petco, PetSmart, etc). KPR is a non profit (501C3) organization and would be more than happy to send you a receipt for your donation and even list you as a sponsor on their website!

PUGGY PLEASE WITH CHEESE ON TOP??????????

Please just Pee-Mail my assistant/mom at laura0227@yahoo.com and she will be FLIPPED OUT HAPPY to send you the address to mail a donation!

Please pass the word on to anyone you know that loves Puggies and would be interested in helping OR even attending the March In The Pugs on March 5! ALL breeds (even SNOUTED breeds!) are welcome!!

THANK YOU FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!

He Blinded Me With SCIENCE!

Yep...it's that time of year for Holden again...SCIENCE FAIR!!!
Here is his 2011 creation/submission....(drum roll please....)

PEARLY WHITES! He tested 3 methods for TOOTH WHITENING!
(be sure to click to biggify the pics so you can see details!)
**Notice the title...PEARLY WHITES! It's a wink wink, nudge nudge to my fabulous Okie Friend PEARL!**

Since *I*, Salinger The Pug, am Holden's trusty assistant and good luck charm for most things, I will explain the project to you...

FIRST...he covered tiles with grout to simulate the "texture" of a tooth
NEXT, he soaked all the tiles in TEA for 24 hours.
THEN, for the next seven days, he treated the teeth in three different groups.
1. Crest whitening toothpaste, 2. baking soda, 3. Crest Whitestrips
His hypothesis was that the Whitestrips would be the most effective....

Let's see if he was right....

Hmmmm....the whitest tooth was the one treated with....

Crest Whitening Toothpaste (for 7 days). WOW! What a surprise!!!!

Mmmmm...these smell minty fresh and are just BEGGING for a taste!!!! NOM NOM NOM!

Science Fair is today! GOOD LUCK HOLDEN!!!!!!!!!

Stay tuned for an update later when the results are in!!!!

Painting Snoopervisor

Hi there! Yep...I'm the Painting Snoopervisor today! NOT the artist type like my friends Paco, Emmitt or Howie, Annie and Java....we're talking hardcore WALL painting!

Here I am at the jobsite (a.k.a. living room) making sure the drop cloths were soft, comfortable, and warmed up.

Next, I had to test the viscosity and durability of the paint that mom had rolled onto the wall in the foyer...

"Ummm...I think you're going to have to do that part again, mom!"

On the plus side...it's a very close match to my lovely fawn color!

Here I am during Dad's shift. You might need to click to biggify.

Don't judge me...I'm the shop steward of United Adorable Pugs of America Local 311 and I was on my coffee break!!! It's in the contract!!!

Jackassery aside...the finished product looks AAAA-MAZING!

AND...

Phase 1 of the kitchen/dining area (more to come as we keep working).

A job WELL done!!!

YAY! Jerry and I are all finished with our new wall/fireplace/corner!!!

TAH-DAH!!!!!!! That's me (the project snoopervisor) with Jerry, residential construction and remodeling specialist extraordinaire!!!

Look closely at the cool niche that Jerry built so the DVR and Blu-ray player can have their wires hidden!

Mom didn't waste any time "puggifying" it with our Cupug and Punk Rock Pug tchochkies!!!!

Mom can't decide which of these or order for the new faux fireplace...

OR

Knowing her...she'll probably get BOTH and switch 'em up!

Mr. Jerry and I had SO much fun while he was here. He has a big Golden named Scout so he knew all the best doggie games to play...
We played TUG...

Grrrrrrr....rrrrr...rrrrrr...rrrrrr!!!!

We played LIGHTS OUT...

"NOOOOOOOOOOOO HAT!"

and we played KISSY FACE!

Thank you SO much Jerry! We love our new corner!

Jerry is working on getting his new website up and running, so if you're around Indy and need something done...be sure to CLICK HERE to check him out!

Happy Saturday everyone!!!!

***MOM'S NOTE*** Forgot to mention....there is also a soundbar that will be installed (hopefully this weekend by "Taco" and "Lucky") directly below the TV on the wall, which is where there is the space between the niche and the screen!

Back on the job

We've had some yucky weather here in Indy and the peeps had eleventy bajillion other things going on this weekend, so we're JUST now getting you caught up with our big home improvement project!

Here I am last Friday...still snoopervising Jerry as he was putting the tile in place!

"Ok, Jerry...I have to keep my PugButt off this tile for 24 hours while it's drying...right?"

"I'll be sure to patrol this area to keep the peeps off!"

"You can count on me, Jerry!"

Saturday morning, mom got busy with the roller and PAINTED the wall, and when it was dry, our buddy Mr. Rob (a.k.a. Taco) and dad (a.k.a. "Lucky") did THIS....

OOOOHHHHH! I don't have to get all barky and yelly when people walk in front of me on the couch while I'm watching my stories now!!!

Dad and Mr. Rob did a REALLY good job with all the wires and different pieces and parts that were needed to get the picture box up on the wall, but different things kept happening and they had to make like 84958573939237495 trips back and forth to Home Depot, Fry's Electronics and Best Buy!!!!! Mom got giggly and threatened to post THIS all over town and on the doors of those stores!

HAHAHAHAAA!

Mr. Jerry came back on Monday and stuck the rest of the tile up on the wall, and THIS is what it looks like TODAY!

ALMOST done! The fireplace mantle and trim will hopefully be done tomorrow...YAY!

Happy Hump Day everyone!!!

Project: Days 2 and 3

Here are the results of my snoopervising days 2 and 3 of our Family Room project!
We REALLY liked Tweedles' guess of this being a BAR, but that's not it!

A few of you have guessed FIREPLACE and you would be correct! There is another purpose for this wall too, so stay tuned!

Happy Thursday!

Home Improvements!

Mom and Dad are on this BIG home improvement kick and are working on a LOT of changes around here. We'll post some more pics from last month when Mimi and Pa were here helping, but I wanted to let you know what's going on THIS week!

Remember my buddy JERRY? (click here to refresh your memory!) Jerry is working on a special project right in the LIVING ROOM!

"Hi Jerry! Can I help you build stuff today?"

Jerry and his helper Evan let me snoopervise the WHOLE framing process yesterday!

"Nice job ripping up that carpet, gentlemen!"

Here I am with the results of Day 1 of construction!

Nice, eh?

Can you guess what this is going to be???

Stay tuned for more pics as progress continues!

Workin' it for KPR

Friday...mom and I were WORKIN' IT for Kentuckiana Pug Rescue! We manned the table at the Indy Gift and Hobby Show and talked to a lot of people about Pug rescue and Pugs in general.

Mom made me wear my bow tie. She said I had to look "festive". Pssshhhh. Notice SHE'S not wearing a Santa hat or anything!

Aunt Sarah was there too with my pals Hank and Molly!

Here Molly O'Mally is getting some snuggles. She was all honked off that she was missing the salmon croquettes lunch special at MCL Cafeteria.

We talked to a TON of interesting people! Some people had their own puggies at home, and some came up and asked "What kind of dogs are these?"

I couldn't stop staring at this crazy lady's ANTLERS! She should go on that Medical Mysteries show!

There were a LOT of little hooman puppies there! This little cutie just LOVED me!

Her name is Alexis and we promised her a shout out on our bloggie! HI ALEXIS! Thanks for visiting me and for helping the Puggies of KPR!!! You ROCK girl!!!!

Mom did her best to explain how Pug rescue works and so many nice people were willing to give their treat money up!

THANK YOU, nice lady!!!!

Here are Hank and O'Mally chilling out in the Puggy Playpen.

I think they kinda liked being in there away from all the excitement.

...but NOT ME!!!!!

GET ME OUTTA THIS FARKAKTE CAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aunt Annie came to relieve us and then took over the money collecting duties. She later told Mom that all total for the day, we collected just over $100 in donations!!!

HOLY PUG! That's a good chunk of kibble money!!!!

Don't worry...if you missed the Indy Gift and Hobby show...you can STILL DONATE to KPR! Just CLICK THIS LINK and feel free to help the puggies in the care of KPR!

Toilet Talk

Mom and dad have been kvetching about the toilet in the master bath for AGES now. They kept trying to "fix" it and wound up breaking it completely and then realizing they were SCREWED because none of the replacement guts fit or worked! GRRRR! SO they decided to have the whole farkakte crapper replaced.

SO...that makes me the PLUMBING ASSISTANT PUG today!!!

Don't worry...they didn't try to attempt this feat themselves! They called over their buddy, and football dad extraordinaire, JERRY! I love Mr. Jerry because he plays with me and tells me about HIS doggie...a big Golden named Scout!

Um...Mr. Jerry? Why is the can right in the middle of the BEDROOM???? This doesn't seem right!

Jerry explained to me how to uninstall the old toilet, scrape up the wax ring, and replace it with a new one to insure a perfect seal...

I'm taking good notes for mom and dad....

HEY...the new one fits!!! Way to go Jerry!!!

Ok, bolt that sucker down....

...and I'll test 'er out!!!!

Hey mom...how about a newspaper and a little PRIVACY PLEASE?????

Thank you so much for installing the new throne, Jerry!!! You rock!!!!

Happy Friday everyone!!!!

Hitchin' a Ride

Here's another LONG overdue post (yeah, we're going to be playing catchup for a few days!).
On Saturday June 5, we did another transport to help this sweet little PuggyGirl get to her new foster home in KY so she can find a new forever home!
Meet Maddi!
Photobucket

She was such a SWEET girl! Mom had to seriously restrain herself from giving her stupid ex owners a roundhouse kick to the head (yeah, she could do it too! Look out!) because they were giving her up after only 6 months of having her beacuse they claimed that she wasn't potty trained. The dumb lady said "We leave her outside for HOURS at a time and then she'll come in and pee!". O M G!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mom thinks that Maddi will do much better with a family that clearly hasn't flunked "Potty training 101"
Photobucket
SOOOO HAPPPPYYYYYYYY!

She's saying "Thank you for saving me from idiots!!!!"
Photobucket

I got to come along (it was a short drive and we were on our way to meetup!). I was afraid mom would hijack the transport and bring Maddi home to live with us....
Photobucket
We're not KEEPING her are we??????

Thanks for letting us spend a bit of time with you, Sweet Maddi! We're sure you'll find a new FURever home that will have patience and teach you how to be a good girl and treat you like the princess that you are!
