Winner winner chicken dinner!!!!

We are SO FREAKING EXCITED over here because HOLDEN WON FIRST PLACE IN THE SCIENCE FAIR!!!! OMG! OMG!

Here he is at the Science Fair last night with his TROPHY!!!! Congratulations Holden!!!!


Wow...it smells like SUCCESS!



Holden told me that my job today is to watch over his trophy to make sure it doesn't get lost or stolen!

I'm on it!!!

OH NOOOOOOO!!!! That means he'll be away from me for the WHOLE DAY!

I don't like the sound of that...but I suppose I'll survive...as long as mom leaves me some snacks!

He Blinded Me With SCIENCE!

Yep...it's that time of year for Holden again...SCIENCE FAIR!!!
Here is his 2011 creation/submission....(drum roll please....)

PEARLY WHITES! He tested 3 methods for TOOTH WHITENING!

Since *I*, Salinger The Pug, am Holden's trusty assistant and good luck charm for most things, I will explain the project to you...

FIRST...he covered tiles with grout to simulate the "texture" of a tooth
NEXT, he soaked all the tiles in TEA for 24 hours.
THEN, for the next seven days, he treated the teeth in three different groups.
1. Crest whitening toothpaste, 2. baking soda, 3. Crest Whitestrips
His hypothesis was that the Whitestrips would be the most effective....


Let's see if he was right....

Hmmmm....the whitest tooth was the one treated with....

Crest Whitening Toothpaste (for 7 days). WOW! What a surprise!!!!


Mmmmm...these smell minty fresh and are just BEGGING for a taste!!!! NOM NOM NOM!


Science Fair is today! GOOD LUCK HOLDEN!!!!!!!!!

FIRST up....check out Holden and his science project!!!!

He learned how MRI works! Notice the TWO ribbons on the table in front of him! The red was the "Participant" ribbon that everyone got and then the blue was the "FINALIST" ribbon! Holden didn't win the overall prize, but we are SO proud of him for doing such an awesome job all by himself on this informative project!

He even used an MRI film of his own HEAD!

WOW...look at his eyeballs! They look all buggy like MINE! Holden must be part PUG!

NOW....since Holden was being all smart and science-y, Pugsley and I decided to conduct our own experiment here at the house yesterday...

"Is it better to kiss the Cabana Boy or each other????"

A lot of preparation and scientific research went into this project, so we'll explain each step....

1. The "Grow Your Own Cabana Boy" (from Gunther, Stella and Betty) has been soaking in water for about a week now...


2. Light a candle to "set the mood"...


3. Kiss the Cabana Boy (we named him Renaldo)...

5. Now time to enter all of our data....
