Portrait of ANOTHER famous relative!

Hello there everyone! Today we have another glimpse into my interesting family history for you all! You may remember the fine portraits that mom acquired of my 7th Great Aunt Fanny and my 18th Great Grandfather, Colonel Hampton the Flying Ace...but thanks to the (fictional) website called Pugcestry.com, mom has found another ancestory of mine....

Meet famed journalist PUGWARD R. MURROW!!!!

(be sure to click to biggify....Pugward's image is made of NEWSPAPER print!)
Isn't the resemblace UNCANNY????

It's a little known fact that my pugcestor, Pugward R. Murrow was the reporter that broke the big scandal between (then) King Edward and Wallis Simpson!!
Here is a photo of Duke of Windsor, Edward VIII, and Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson taken April 21, 1954

It's been said that Mr. Murrow was able to break the scandal due to some tips from some "UNKNOWN" sources very close to Mrs. Simpson in exchange for treats!!!
In case you're not familiar with this story (or didn't see "The King's Speech"), King Edward VIII fell in love with Mrs. Wallis Simpson, not only an American, but also a married woman already once divorced. Yet, in order to marry the woman he loved, King Edward was willing to give up the British throne - and he did!!! WOW...that's a story fit for TMZ if we ever heard one!!!

We did some digging and Pugward was the proud recipient of several awards for his fine work in the field of journalism, including a PUGBODY and 2 PUGLITZERS!!! Wow!

VERRRY impressive!!!!

You may be very surprised to find that there are copies of my famous pugcestor's print available at TJ Maxx in their fine art department. I really must have mom check into the legal aspect of this as I'm SURE there must be royalties involved for using my pugcestor's likeness...don't you think???

Happy Hump Day everyone!!!

Our Family Pre Thanksgiving Tradition

I'm going to give you a sneak peek into the crazy jackassery and insanity that my peeps inflict on me EVERY year the night before Thanksgiving. Get ready for this....

THIS is a TURKEY NECK.

NOW...when Holden was really little (maybe about 4 or 5) and before I was born, Mom was cleaning and prepping the turkey the night before Thanksgiving and pulled the NECK out of the cavity. Holden's mouth dropped open and he asked (with astonishment in his voice) "Is that the turkey PENIS?" Mom laughed so hard, and then after explaining what it REALLY was, proceeded to chase poor Holden around the house with the gross appendage. Here are some pics of this idiocy from past years (look how CUTE Holden is!)

It was bad enough that poor Holden was traumatized every year...but since I've come along, they also find it funny to include ME in the mess!

WTF??????????

MON DIEU! This is SO inappropriate!!!!

This year, mom WOKE US UP with this gross thing! Oy!

Talk about a RUDE awakening!!! Jeez!

I showed them...if someone is going to wave FOODABLES in my face, I'm going to EAT them!

NOM NOM NOM NOM!!!!

Part of the fun of the turkey neck is that late at night, we "deliver" it to our friends, the Aikens!

This year Holden got CAUGHT (haha!) and dropped it and RAN! BUSTED!!!!

Personally...I'd rather EAT the neck, but mom gets all yelly about too many bones, so we'll just continue on with our stupid pre-Thanksgiving family tradition!!!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

Another Family History Lesson

Some of you may remember the time that mom scored a treasured heirloom painting (CLICK HERE TO READ ABOUT IT!). WELL....she was lucky enough to find another gem and teach me a bit more about my roots.

Meet FANNY!
Photobucket
This beautiful portrait of my great (times 7) Aunt Fanny is a very important piece of Pugkind and the source of one of mom's favorite expressions (more on that later).

Unlike my Great (times 18) Grandfather Colonel Hampton the Flying Ace, my Great (times 7) Aunt Fanny was a simple domesticated housePug. She liked to spend time in the kitchen with her Hooman named Thelma.
Photobucket
How lucky that we happened to have a picture of Thelma!

Fanny was a fiesty little Pug who insisted on floating mint leaves in her ice water and a spritz of rosewater behind each of her button ears. She would sit at the screen door and bark at any of those damn neighbor kids that crossed her lawn and made sure to keep the floor clean of scraps of cucumber sandwiches when the Bridge Club came over.
Photobucket
Can't you see the family resemblance? UNCANNY I tell you!!!!

So now it makes a LOT more sense to me when Mom uses the phrase "My Aunt Fanny's A$$!" Here's an example...

Mom: "Holden did you feed Salinger?"

Holden: "Ummmm....yeah" (as I'm standing there starving to death staring at my empty bowl!)

Mom: "MY AUNT FANNY'S A$$ YOU DID!....Get in here and feed him NOW please!"

Wow...who knew my Pugcestor was such an important part of our family vernacular!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

***Mom's note**** Yeah...you guessed it...another find at TJ Maxx!!!!

Mom made this pupcake for us puggers...
Photobucket

...and she made this PEOPLE cake for the hoomans (it was a layer of chocolate and a layer of vanilla buttermilk!)
Photobucket

BLOW OUT THE FARKAKTE CANDLE SO WE CAN EAT ALREADY!!!

There was even ENTERTAINMENT!!! This Weiner guy named DOUG easily ate his weight in foodables....
Photobucket
We all laughed at the idea that he could eat a lot because he was so L O N G that it probably took a while for the food to travel to his other end! HAHAHAHAA

We had a look alike contest....I think my sister Betty and I won that!
Photobucket
Betty is with Mom and I'm down in front!

Ugh...I think I'm in a FOOD COMA!!!
Photobucket
Can we go home so I can poop in my own yard please??? After all this partying...it's going to be supersized!!!

Car Wash Torture

Well, the peeps picked a FINE way to start off 2010 for me....they took me through the CAR WASH!

I was SITTING inside the car on Mom's lap and everything, but they somehow forgot to mention that cleaning the salt off the car means a drive through the NIGHTMARISH TORTURE CHAMBER OF HELL!

See for yourself....

Happy New Year INDEED!!!

Family Bonding

Hi everyone and HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13th!!!!!! WHOOOOOO scary!!!!! HAHAHA! Just kidding...I'm not scared of some silly number! Today was a VERY cool day! I got to meet more of my family for the first time! Today I got to meet my Grandma and Grandpa Lawson and my Doggie Uncle Samy (he spells his name with only 1 M...he's eccentric). Grandma and Grandpa live in Tennessee and are Holden's dad's dad and stepmom.
Photobucket
That's Holden, Grandma Lawson and Grandpa Lawson.

Uncle Samy is a Cocker Spaniel and he's about 10 years old, so I wasn't sure if he'd want to play with me, but he did!
Photobucket
Here is Samy (Holden keeps calling him "Flatbread Samy" like from Quiznos!)

He liked all of my toys! We had fun playing together! We were very good boys and shared all of the toys!
Photobucket

I even let him play with Nipsy (my purple monkey with nipples).
Photobucket

I figured that was a good way to distract Samy so I could snuggle up to Grandma!
Photobucket
Soooooo nice!

Grandma kept telling me how cute I was and she gave me lots of kisses and rubs and.....HEY! WHAT THE?????????
Photobucket
??????????????????????????

GRACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Photobucket
Samy was getting in on with MY Grace!!!!!!!

Ugh...this is NOT pretty! I think she might be considered "damaged goods" now.
Photobucket

Photobucket
I am THOROUGHLY appalled!

Photobucket
BWAAHAAAAHAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAA!!!!!

SO...after I got done checking Grace over (she's ok), Grandma put her up out of the way and Samy and I decided to be friends again and snuggled in the blanket pile with Holden
Photobucket
You know what they say....."bros before.....h(oh never mind!)"

Then we posed for one nice picture before Samy had to leave.
Photobucket
I was yaaaaawning because I'm so exhausted!!!!

I hope I get to see him again while he's here in Indiana visiting! I'm really tired from all that playing so I'm going to bed now. Tomorrow is going to be a big day...we're having our neighborhood GARAGE SALE! Mommy says we need to just stand by the street and yell "BUY OUR CRAP!" but I think it might scare away customers and that means more junk she has to lug to Goodwill afterward. I'm going to be the PR specialist and look extra cute on my long leash to help draw in customers.
Photobucket
HI! Wanna buy some CRAP?
