Interview with the Pugs

Hey everyone! Today it's MOM (Laura) at the keyboard. I am so so so sorry for the lack of posts and updates with our new family member (Toby), but the last almost two weeks have reminded me of those first surreal days home alone with a new (human) baby.
Toby is a PERFECT little pug and fitting in so nicely with us! Salinger is being a bit turdlier than usual and is a bit jealous and has even started MARKING around the house (ai yi yi!). I REFUSE to put them in belly bands (because we have this awesome custom built doggie door!) so I just follow them everywhere and get ready to pounce if I see a leg start to lift. I'm lucky to get a real shower every day (usually with the curtain open so I can see what they're doing) and am still balancing work on top of all this. LUCKILY I work from home or I would be an unemployed MESS of a Crazy Pug Lady right now. SO....until I can put something better together....here's a video of me "interviewing" the boys after they received a cool new toy from Julie (from The Pug Corral). Thank you ALL for the sweet words, encouragement, commisserating, support and laughs as we've brought sweet Toby into our home! I promise to try and get better with blogging and let Salinger have the keyboard back. I know he's much funnier and more interesting than I am!

Sal! He's so worried! Is Mom going to love that cute young guy MORE then him?
(I know, never, but pugs do worry!) ((hugs)) to all of you!

Oh goodness, Salinger! That face! How is it that you actually managed to look even more worried? Don't be upset, your mom loves you so much and Toby won't change that! But if you need a break, come and visit me!
Love,
Payton

Are you sure Salinger's not grumpy because he's a Colts fan? :)
(Mom said I could say that because she's a Vikings fan so we're in the same boat)

Oh Salinger. It must be tough to be an only pug then become one of two. We weren't thrilled when we went from two to four. Three is okay. Try to remember that love multiplies and adding another pug does not subtract from your love. And you are lucky! There are three laps and only two pugs! Here there's only one lap!

Sal, hang in the buddy. Little brother's aren't as annoying as they might seem. They grow on ya. My brother has that same doughnut bed and we have those same hedgies.

Lots of licks,
Swisher

Nice touch with the eyebrow raise when your Mom asked if Toby was your brother!!! My Dad said to tell you he feels bad for you. He also said you're a complicated pug, a lot like Sluggo! Hand in there, it gets better!

Oh Salinger-- your mom is right- you look so pittiful! But you have fun with Toby- I have seen you! I seen you both do zoomies!
In time I know things will all work out. Don't worry Salinger- everything is going to be alright.

Salinger, dude! You look soooooo sad!! But it's okay, really! You know your mama will always love you - you're her S-Dog! You don't have to lurk in the background...you can come forward and take some of that camera time! You and Toby are brothers and there's nothing you can do about it (okay, well you can eat his face but that wouldn't be very nice). Stop looking so sad and go play!

Salinger, dude - I can totally relate! I was an only pug and then the pawrents went out and brought Brutus home. Now, I don't know what I would do without him. Ellie on the other hand is a different story - I am still getting used to her. She is a little cracker dog!

Oh poor baby, he does look pathetic. He is so used to being the only pug. I have found that they end up loving having another around hang in there. We adopted a puppy mill boxer two years ago that was so damaged and shy, she did not know how to play or even walk on grass. We had been making slow progress with her for a while but it wasn't until getting our puppy Bubba (pug) about a year ago that she really came out of her shell. She is 7 years old now but plays with this puppy like she is a puppy and she is 7years old! Good for you adopting Toby!

Hi S-Dog!

Just remember: you're the alpha, you're the first, you're the man! By and by, you'll get used to your little bro. Give it time, but keep using that sad face! I bet it gets you treats!!!

Zoe here ... I know exactly where you are coming from! I was an only pug for 9 months ... then I got a brother (Peyton) and if that wasn't bad enough - less than five months after that I got another brother (Webster). I wsa close to being 3 by the time I got a sister (Liberty). I'm not sure I like her much - I have to share my clothes with her! Over all it really isn't all that bad - I'm never lonely. And as long as mom and dad remember who was here first (ME) it's all good! Love, Zoe
